Frequently Asked Questions

  • While our tax-return driven planning process is built for all high-net-worth retirees, we do not have the capacity to engage with everyone. The individuals & families best suited for our firm typically have investable assets between $2M and $8M, value proactive tax planning, and want to delegate their portfolio management and financial plan design. These individuals have succeeded in the accumulation stage but recognize that the retirement distribution phase is more complex than expected and value spending their time in other ways. A good fit also goes beyond financial qualifications. The relationships we build with our clients and their families can last decades so we prioritize working with people of integrity who are enjoyable to be around. If we are not the right fit for your specific needs, we are happy to point you toward the resources you are looking for.

  • No. We believe our Tax-Return Driven Financial Planning framework is an ongoing, comprehensive process best suited for long-term advisory relationships where we oversee both the plan design and investment implementation as tax laws change. Due to capacity constraints and wanting to give our existing clients the high level of service we promised, we do not offer hourly consultations, one-time reviews, or standalone project work. Our effort to support this need in our community is providing educational content via our Retirement Tax Matters YouTube channel, podcast, and website.

  • We utilize a simple flat percentage fee based on the amount of investments we manage for you.

    Above $1M: 1.0%
    Above $2M: 0.9%
    Above $3M: 0.8%
    Above $5M: 0.7%
    Above $8M: 0.6%

For those who want to continue managing their investment accounts themselves, we also offer an Ongoing Financial Planning only option that has a minimum quarterly fee of $3,600 and can scale up depending on complexity of your situation.
